What the Adventure Looks Like
We meet you at Cairns Airport arrivals once you have your bags. No hunting for a shuttle, no shared transfers, no holding a sign in a crowd. We’re there, your vehicle is ready, and we go.
From the airport we head to Skyrail at Smithfield. The gondola lifts you over the rainforest canopy from the edge of the city, with two stops on the way up — one through ancient lowland rainforest on a boardwalk walk, one above the Barron Gorge with views across the escarpment. It’s a genuinely beautiful way to arrive in Kuranda.
In the village, we walk the Barron River rainforest trail before heading into the Heritage Markets. Local art, rainforest food, independent makers. You have real time to wander, not ten minutes before the bus leaves.
In the afternoon the Scenic Railway brings you back down to Cairns through 15 tunnels and 40 bridges, past the gorge and through the rainforest on one of Australia’s great heritage rail journeys.
We pick you up from the station and drop you at your hotel, bags and all, right on time for check-in. Every itinerary is shaped around your flight — send us your arrival time and hotel check-in time and we’ll build the day to fit.

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Seven and a half kilometres over the canopy. The Red Peak mid-station boardwalk is underrated — keep an eye out for Boyd’s Forest Dragon in the undergrowth.
Barron River Rainforest Walk
A guided walk along the river through genuine lowland rainforest. This is the kind of thing most visitors to Cairns never do, because they don’t know it’s there.
Kuranda Village and Heritage Markets
The heart of the day. The markets are the real Kuranda — local makers, rainforest produce, live music, genuine character. You have time to actually be here.
Kuranda Scenic Railway
Back down to Cairns the way it was done in 1891. The gorge views on the descent are extraordinary. Left-hand windows are the ones to be at — I’ll tell you before you board.
